Wednesday's are our normal open house here at TCmaker. Excuse the mess and drop on by.
I meant to issue this invite earlier but in my rush to clear my schedule for the week (don't worry Shanna I'm caught up) and the sudden departure of our immediate landlord had me running. Expanding this early from 4000 sq. ft. to 8000 is creating a mess, but it is a nice comforting mess.
Hackerspaces, Maker Shops, Community Workshops whatever you want to call them are popping up all over the world. At the same time corporations and government are becoming aware of the resource the DIY (Do it Yourself) community represents. DARPA is reaching out, Microsoft and Sony are reaching out just to name a few of the big ones.
Just as the Open source movement and the development of app stores has reinvigorated individual and small group programming efforts. The Open Hardware movement and the emergence 3d printer technologies has the potential to change manufacturing. Hackerspaces can be a entrance point to this, with there ability to share the costs and start-up knowledge.
But perhaps more important to the progressive movement is the community that develops around the spaces.
so drop on by and lets talk.
