Greetings from NN11!
So, I tried to stay anonymous. But the giant ARMED LIBERAL pin hanging from my nametag didn't really help. Meteor Blades knew who I was right off and so did Deoliver.
I ran into a little bit of gun rights bashing during both of my first sessions yesterday. Kinda weird; the sessions had nothing to do with guns. I know we're a minority on DK and it looks like we're a ridiculously small minority here @ NN11.
Oh well.
Had an interesting conversation with Cliff Schecter this morning. It wasn't much of a conversation, just a couple comments from me and a litany of NRA IS BAD from Cliff. Which I agree with to a certain extent (not necessarily on goals but on the means used to those ends.)
I've met Bill in Portland Maine, ER Doc (obviously), ocular sinister, rockhound, kitsap river, chauconne, Meteor Blades, Angry Mouse (our own Illustrious Rodent), kos himself, eclectablog, TexDem, and Hunter.
I'm still hunting for teacherken. I want to shake his hand and take a picture. :-D
Speaking of Hunter though: I have to apologize. I took his diary about the no fly list the wrong way. His intent was to show the GOP's silliness in their support for the no-fly list EXCEPT when it impacts the right to keep and bear arms. He wants the no fly list abolished. (Hunter, if you read this and I put this wrong somehow, let me know and I will correct it.)
I hope I see many more Kossacks here.
On a sad note, one of our lost fellows (Kossack and RKBA member Ben Masel) was brought up last night along with exmeardan. I wanted to meet Ben but never had a chance, even the one time I went down to Madison.
Keynote speeches: The president of AFT was fantastic. Olbermann had a video for us last night. Keith is awesome. HOWARD DEAN showed up. Fantastic man and a wonderful speaker. Russ Feingold was the closing keynote and basically brought the house down. I've never clapped so hard.
To bring it back to RKBA for a minute:
How many of my fellow liberals, fellow progressives, fellow Democrats, fellow lefties, fellow NN attendees realize that both Dean and Feingold are strong supports of the second amendment and the right to keep and bear arms?
