The is a great deal of wailing and gnashing of teeth going on in DC about reducing the deficit..with startling efficiency I might add..
“I keep talking to other colleagues who have confidence that someone else is working things out,” said Sen. Chris Coons (D-Del.), a freshman member of the Budget Committee. “But I keep looking around thinking, ‘If we’re not doing it, then who is?’ ”
Never in the history of man have so many Tiffany's products been so fervently clutched..
“There’s a large degree of apprehension,” said Sen. Bob Corker (R-Tenn.)
Never have so many silly things been said whilst grasping the bipartisan hair by its roots, Joe Biden seems to seems to be selling.... London Bridge?
“There are differences that are going to have to be bridged. We’re not going to cut any deal that can’t be sold.”
Oh what to cut, what to cut Oh woe oh woe oh woe!
But wait....there is...
.
Oh and another one...spot the logic..
.
.
Gosh...my eyes...my eyes ...my eyes doth deceive me..
.
As Von Rumsfeld once said
“You go to war with the Army you have,”
Well I suppose you managed only to get us into to wars with the minimalist spending of previous administrations. Godammit we only spent $400 billion ayear just think what we could have done if we had double that?
Or think where we would be if we "only" spent the same amount we do today. We were so defenseless with spending $400 billion we could only start two wars? The mind boggles....we could have started four....hmm
OK say we reduce this farce by $300 billion over the next 10 years, thats $3 trillion already and I haven't even made one grandma angry.
The other trillion?
What I'm still missing one?....Oh...
Oh heavens to mercy do I have to lead you by the hand?
Just let the Bush tax cuts for the wealthiest sunset..
Kay?
Ye gawds I could probably find another trillion or so just by ensuring the corporations actually pay what they owe and by removing senseless subsidies.
There, that wasn't hard nor painful was it and we still can keep public education, medicare, medicaid, health care, social security and invest in our infrastructure.
My apologies to gorillas.....we do have some stupid analogies.
