The recent flame wars regarding Christianity on DK have taught me some new things.
Apparently, it's really LGBT's who are the bigots for pointing out that the majority of Christian denominations are bigoted against them.
Thank you DK, for enlightening me.
Also, Christian Democrats are on the same team as gays, no matter whether they believe gays are 2nd class citizens or not.
It's not up to LGBT people to determine who's on their team, that is determined by Christians.
Also, when LGBT people say that Christians have a problem with them, that is bigoted, because when LGBT people want to talk about the issue, they have to go through every single denomination, one by one, and list which Christian groups treat them like 2nd class citizens and which don't. Otherwise, LGBT people are bigots for lumping everyone into the same category even though the vast majority of Christian denominations do not support LGBT equality.
I've also learned that it's perfectly OK for Christians to apply names like "atheist" to people who have never branded themselves as such. Christians are allowed to call people whatever they want. All people who don't believe in God are easily lumped into one negatively viewed category called "atheist." That way they can keep all their "rotten eggs" in one basket. This is not bigoted.
Christians also have every right to expect LGBT's to treat them with maximum respect and open-mindedness, even though the churches they belong to expect LGBT's to live as 2nd class citizens. Just like with the Civil Rights movement, LGBT's are expected to forget about the fact that they are 2nd class citizens and behave themselves. No shouting. No resentment. If an LGBT person looses their cool because they're 2nd class citizens, it's not because there are people who are bigoted against them, it's because LGBT's themselves are cruel and bigoted people, just like African Americans during the Civil Rights movement.
Thank you DK, for educating me about Christians and the proper place of so-called atheists and LGBT's.
1:30 PM PT: Also, of course it didn't matter when whites were members of white power groups during the Civil Rights movement as long as they claimed in public that they weren't racist. Therefore, Christians who belong to denominations that demand that LGBT's live as 2nd class citizens are likewise not a problem as long as they tell LGBT's a different story to their faces.
