This diary was deleted by the author after some reflection because it could have been interpreted as obscenity by some readers who (through no fault of their own) had either no time or no inclination to see its deeper interpretive meaning. As such, it might could reflect badly on the site and its participants.
The diary was mainly satirical criticism of the suspension of Mark Halperin by MSNBC over comments made on the air which he was not aware were being broadcast. It pointed to the folly of what the author sees as the degradation of language in a society which reacts to slang in a manner which is, frankly, much more serious than the terms deserve. It addressed the issue of the underlying meaning of the slang use of the name "Dick", how the meaning has changed over time, and the absurdity of pretending the term has some meaning worthy of destroying somebody's career over. Also addressed was how terms irrationally evolve and lose their meanings, or are imbued with meanings which were based on misunderstandings or ignorance in the first place.
