The words "political math" have been lodged in the back of my head since 2006 when good old Karl "Genius Boy" Rove predicted a Republican House and Senate as a result of the mid-term elections that cycle. His exact words in an NPR interview were, and I giddily quote:
"You may end up with a different math, but you're entitled to your math. I'm entitled to the math."
As you know, Democrats took control of both the House and Senate that year. Great abundance of mirth was in no short supply in my household that day.
