For three decades, Grover Norquist has been on a crusade to end social spending. He's run a series of political groups dedicated to not paying taxes in order to fuck up the US budget. Grover, you see, like most conservatives, does not have the BALLS to stand up in front of the American people and say what he actually wants to do. So he thought he would be clever and force us to make a decision. This was the whole point of the looming government shutdown/default on debt. It was a crisis deliberately designed as a trap, with only one (apparent) way out in the form of permanently destroying the New Deal and Great Society programs all at once.
And my President, Barack Obama, just took Grover's stick away from him and busted it right the fuck over his knee.
"Starve the Beast" is over. Over the fold for more.
Grover has been sad for a long time. As I've explained before, this is not because he is furry and blue.
It's because he is a lazy, shiftless FREELOADING trust-fund baby and doesn't want to pay taxes.
Well, fuck him. For 30 years he has been extorting promises out of conservative politicians to not raise taxes. The ultimate goal of his two-faced oathtaking has been to break the back of our federal government so that it cannot function for working people.
Well, fuck him. Ya listening, Grover? FAAAAAAAAAAAK YOUUUUUUUUUUUU YOU DISHONEST BAAAAAAAAASTAAAARD!
Starve the Beast was always about creating a false sense of crisis and using that crisis to slash social spending. And Barack Obama, who conservatives constantly misunderestimate to their continuing, ongoing despair, has taken the big stick of Starve the Beast out of their hands and busted it right the fuck in half. NO, Grover. We will NOT have the social spending discussion in your crisis-generated frame. NO, we will not use a false sense of panic to cut the shit out of our social safety net. NO, GROVER, YOU ARE GOING TO HAVE TO FIGURE OUT A WAY TO FACE THE VOTERS AND HAVE THIS DISCUSSION WITH US HONESTLY. OR, YOU CAN SHUT THE FUCK UP AND NEVER SPEAK ANOTHER WORD AGAIN, GROVER. I DO NOT CARE.
