Led to CNBC by a front-page diary, I couldn't help notice this article quoting JFK that "raising taxes does not increase revenue."
It's a badly written piece of shit. The author, Jeff Cox, seems to have swallowed without the slightest attempt at critical analysis, every right-wing bullshit meme regarding supply-side economics.
It is here. The key quote is this:
"During the Reagan years, the man they called Dutch cut taxes but doubled revenue, decreased unemployment from 7 percent to 5.4 percent and inflation from 13.5 percent to 4.1 percent, while median income grew by $4,000. "
No mention is made of the fact that REAGAN RAISED ENORMOUS DEFICITS during his time, and ergo, IT CANNOT BE TRUE that he doubled revenue.
Please, go shit on this ignorant piece of crap article.
