First up, Senator Tom Harkin (D-IA)
"The sad thing is America no longer has a two-party system," Sen. Tom Harkin (D-Iowa) said at a press conference Wednesday. "One of our two parties has morphed into kind of a cult driven by a singular fixation and obsession: preserving tax breaks for the wealthy at all costs."
~snip~
"The fight is not between Democrats and Republicans, it's Republicans and their cult fringe, as I refer to them out there," Harkin said. "You'll find all sorts of Republicans who are willing to let this country go down the tubes on their ideological deal."

YES! A cult for the rich and for misinformed people who like the same TV shows.
As Senate Democrats prepare to deep six the GOP's farcical "Cut, Cap and Balance plan", the same one President Obama promised to veto if it made it's way to his desk, I am glad to see Senate Democrats start using some harsh language, to say the least. As one Kossack duly noted, we lose NOTHING when we offend people who already hate us, and I agree with what President F.D.R. once stated, in that "I welcome their hatred"
But it doesn't end there, because, if you recall, Bill Maher said the same thing last year about the teabaggers, who are today's House Republicans. "They aren't a movement, they're a cult."
Yes, they are a cult, right up there with Scientologists and whatever other loony scams there are. They have their own language, they aren't allowed to trust anything said by anyone who isn't a member of their cult, they have deep religious beliefs that are not shared by the majority of the population around them and they are trying to force their worldview on the rest of us, and that world view is that all taxes, spending and government (except the military) is evil, and only unregulated Big Business and their fucked up hate god can save us, brought to you by Carl's Jr.
More below the fold
That's why I couldn't be laugh any louder then I did when I read what Maryland Senator Barabara Mikulski said out loud and clear for all to hear.
Harkin, along with fellow Democrats Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.), Barbara Mikulski (D-Md.) and Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.), rebuked the House GOP for voting Tuesday to approve the Cut, Cap and Balance bill, a Tea Party-backed plan that includes major spending cuts, capping spending at 1965 levels and a commitment to vote on a Balanced Budget Amendment.
"Once again the radical right is more worried about protecting their next election than protecting the greatest generation or the next generation," Mikulski said at a press conference. "What a sham, what a scam. I'd be tempted to blow it off if it weren't so cruel, stupid and dangerous."

Yup, cruel, stupid and dangerous, which sounds a lot like what Alan Grayson said the other day when he announced his candidacy, where he said the GOP is cruel, bigoted and only cares about the rich
Yes, a cult for religious and rural people, as well as racists, xenophobes, homophobes, anti government conspiracy theorists, the cruel, the stupid and dangerous people who watch the same TV shows, funded by people who want tax cuts for the rich.
And of course, we could never be where we are now without News Corporation and Fox News, the official indoctrination center for the Republican cult, where we now return you to your regular viewing content on Fox, "Owww, my balls."
