Quick Preface: I have contemplated for several weeks now this very question? While I know this discussion might be unnerving to some, I do think it is one worth having.
Let's begin with a little quick refresher on the Congressional Oath of Office.
"I, (name), do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God"
I emboldened a few words there. As many of us have observed over the last several years, and as many more are cluing in each and every day, The Republican Party for the most part does not work in good faith. Now to be fair I do realize I am painting them with a broad brush, but what else is there to do? Their voting record doesn't lie (About the only thing about them that doesn't)
So where is it when they actually cross that line into sedition? While I whole heartedly support The 1st Amendment and the right of Private Citizens to express themselves freely, no matter how stupid they are. Yet elected officials are not private citizens. They have a position above that of any private individual, they are elected by us to represent us as our Government and take that above oath (Which btw is the only one that matters, so Grover can go stick it!)
While we have called them criminals for years, at least it always seemed The GOP worked to their advantage. They at least had the eye on the ball and knew what socially destructive policies they wanted to develop and they would then go legislate it, while under questionable circumstances, it still tended to get legislated. Now we have a GOP who is offered the biggest slash & gut spending package in the history of the country, but since it was offered by a black Democrat, they won't take it. To quote America's favorite subversive racist
“When it comes time to default, they’re not going to remember any of the Republicans’ names. They are going to remember in history books one name, and that’s Obama.”
That is the mindset we are dealing with. Unfortunately a majority of those within The Republican House Caucus share the mindset of Mr Trump (a man who knows a thing or two about bankruptcy.)
The only difference is that The Republican Congress HAS to work with President Obama while Mr "Raccoon Pelt For Hair" does not.
So how do we inform the general public that what is going on is beyond mere political games? It is criminal behavior and they are working against you and your family just to stick it to The President? The real irony of this is that many of those Tea Baggers recently elected to Congress have a lot to lose as well. They're cutting off their noses despite their face as racism trumps even their own well being.
