I am heartened every day when I see "Recall Walker" bumper stickers and yard signs. I am particularly chuffed when I see them in my neighborhood. I live in Wauwatosa, where that SOB Walker lives when he isn't in Madison at the Governor's Mansion.
People with "Recall Walker" yard signs have begun to get anonymous mail from Walker supporters, and Wauwatosa's city officials are looking into whether the yard signs can be interpreted as illegal.
WISN Milwaukee Channel 12 news story about the issue.
For now, the signs are being treated as "temporary signs" (like garage sale signs and whatnot), which are not regulated. However, there are laws in some municipalities that regulate political signs. In Wauwatosa, "...election signs can only be put in yards once petitions can be circulated for a race." Petitions can't be circulated for Walker's recall until November, and his recall can't happen until January.
If Wauwatosa restricts the signs, it will become a huge catalyst for anti-Walker sentiment, organization and political action. As it is, I hope this news story initiates a spontaneous growth of "Recall Walker" signs in the 'hood, like mushrooms in the lawn after a rain.
