I don't try to predict how the debt ceiling debate is going to go. I thought we would have public health care for all by now, obviously I don't predict well. That said why I don't understand why Pelosi and McConnell would both be pleased after meeting with the president, unless they both heard something they liked.
Whatever it was, it didn't make Reid happy. Most of the push to use the 14th amendment is coming from the democrats in the house. If Reid is right about McConnell than I think this is the only option left to Obama. Check out this article from Huffington (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/...). While I don't like an anonymous law maker as a source, they are claiming that Pelosi clearly and strongly backs it. Of course, it isn't hard to see why McConnell wouldn't be happy with Obama using the 14th amendment. The debt ceiling issues goes away and he gets to hang it over the president's head.
But hey, I'm the guy that thought we'd have universal health care by now.
