I am sitting in my living room enjoying a glass of cheap white wine--Leibfraumilche--to be exact. A German wine that is sweet and refreshing. Almost like drinking white grape juice. I am buying cheap stuff for a while, as I have been spending way too much the last week and a half.
We went on vacation last week, and while we stay someplace cheap and I fix meals there, I did spend. I spent at the pottery painting place. Daughter and I spent a long, lazy, fun afternoon painting our pieces. I did a plain tray that I put funky sunshines all over with all different bright colors. She did the Assateague lighthouse and was very meticulous with the painting and color.
Daughter and I also went to get our nails done. This is a rare occurrence, as it is expensive. It is also rare, as I am not a girly, girl. She is very girly, and I have to remember to have fun with her on the girl end. And we did have fun!
I spent money on ice cream, fudge, and seafood. There was a beautiful painting of a blue heron, as well.
It might have been OK, except....Money went out to fund the teens going to Mission Work Camp. Money went out to fund Son's Band Camp.
And today? I bought a long awaited gas grill, 2 lamps, and birthday presents for Daughter--who will celebrate age 14 on Saturday.
So, there will be cheap wine, pasta, grilled cheese, hot dogs, and a lot of time spent at home.
It was well worth it, though. We had a great time!
This is an open thread. Please feel free to join me--I also have a cheap white zinfandel available here, as well as chianti from a box (Boxed wines--so easy, just open the tap!) There is Miller Lite, as well. We can have a dinner party with the cheap frozen ravioli :-)
