Blame Obama. Blame the Republicans. Blame the unions. Blame the Baby Boomers. Blame the younger generation. Blame the immigrants. They love to divide us and pit us against each other. Get together people. We are 98%. They are two percent. But they ignore us at every turn. 80% say tax the rich. Doesn't happen. A majority that grows every day say end the wars. But it doesn't happen. A majority says cut the military budget, but it grows every year. They don't listen to the people. But when we get together they will. Quit blaming your brothers and sisters. Demand the establishment do the right thing.
Both parties are to blame. They both quietly renew every MIC budget and spending for the war as well as the Patriot Act. The system is flawed because it is financed by the capitalists that drain tons from our treasury, your taxes, in return for legal bribery, campaign contributions. The military budget has grown every single year for over forty years. The cold war ended. The MIC budget grew. (except for one year) We had to make up wars to justify the expense. Wars profit the capitalists. Weapons are our greatest export and with it we export the ability for repressive regimes to kill their people. Then we have to build better weapons when we go to fight them ourselves. We funded Iraq's regime. We funded Iran's regime. We funded Pakistan's regime.
End the wars. Cut the military budget. Tax the rich. Listen to the people who are in favor of all these things. But they don't care about us, what we want or what we think. And don't fool yourself that one party is better than the other. Why does it cost so much to run for office? So they can pick who they want.
When people don't have jobs and more and more children are falling into poverty, why does the military budget grow every year? It is never cut. Never. It always grows. We fight wars for oil. We fight wars for business.
President Obama is getting set to go on TV to announce we need to cut SS and medicare. Stand up people. Power to the people. Cut the military. Stop the wars.

Resolution Against the War in Afghanistan
Whereas, Iraq Veterans Against the War is an organization that has opened its membership to veterans of the war in Afghanistan;
Whereas, the war in Afghanistan is continuing into its seventh year with rising casualties among the Afghan people, and with U.S. and Coalition forces facing their deadliest year since the invasion;
Whereas a primary motivation for the prolonged occupation of Afghanistan is competition between the U.S., Russia and China for control of oil and natural gas resources in Central Asia and the Caspian Sea;
Whereas, the military occupation is creating tension and resentment among the Afghan people, to include Afghan women, many of whom are calling for the removal of all foreign occupying troops;
Whereas, the Afghanistan war dehumanizes the Afghan people and denies them their right to self-determination;
Whereas, our military is being exhausted by involuntary extensions, and activations of the Reserve, National Guard and Individual Ready Reserve, and by repeated deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan;
Whereas, service members are facing serious health consequences due to our government's negligence in Iraq and Afghanistan and mismanagement of the Department of Veterans Affairs;
Whereas, there is no battlefield solution to terrorism, and any escalation of the war in Afghanistan will only serve to exacerbate the plight of the Afghan people, destabilize the region, and further the breakdown of our military;
Therefore, be it resolved that Iraq Veterans Against the War calls for the immediate and unconditional withdrawal of all occupying forces in Afghanistan and reparations for the Afghan people, and supports all troops and veterans working towards those ends.

Q: Why does Iraq Veterans Against the War call for the immediate withdrawal from Iraq?
1. The reasons and rationale given for the invasion were fraudulent.
2. The presence of the US military is not preventing sectarian violence.
3. The occupation is a primary motivation for the insurgency and global religious extremism.
4. We can no longer afford to fight this war of choice.
5. National security is compromised.
6. The world is becoming more dangerous.
7. Our national “moral authority” is being undermined.
8. The majority of American citizens, Iraqi citizens and US military would like to see an immediate end to the war in Iraq.
9. The military is broken.
Why we are against the Wars

1. The Iraq war is based on lies and deception.
2. The Iraq war violates international law.
3. Corporate profiteering is driving the war in Iraq.
4. Overwhelming civilian casualties are a daily occurrence in Iraq.
5. Soldiers have the right to refuse illegal war.
6. Service members are facing serious health consequences due to our Government's negligence.
7. The war in Iraq is tearing our families apart.
8. The Iraq war is robbing us of funding sorely needed here at home.
9. The war dehumanizes Iraqis and denies them their right to self-determination.
10. Our military is being exhausted by repeated deployments, involuntary extensions, and activations of the Reserve and National Guard.
Disclaimer: The group is now focusing much of their energy on the Afghanistan war, and really most have done deployments in both wars. A father recently watched his daughter graduated from video. It was his sixth deployment. I am not a veteran but I grew up in the service. My sister was one of two thousand Women Marines in the seventies. There are many veterans against all the wars but their voices are never heard.
