Dear Brian Williams,
You neglected to report the "silver lining" in the uptick in the unemployment rate today: Republicans are happy about it--which you did not report--and, to mix a metaphor, the icing on the cake of this silver lining: that President Obama may, if this uptick trend continues, find it difficult and, perhaps, impossible to win re-election. These two wonderful outcomes cannot be too strenuously stressed, and you have not stressed them at all.
SHAME ON YOU!
By firing municipal, state, and federal employees--and by rejecting federal funds, our "job-conscious" Republican governors, et al., have helped us to effectively boost unemployment--all to the good of the Republican mandate to make Obama a one-term president. Finally, by not hiring construction workers to re-build our infrastructure, we are NOT taxing and spending but saving millions of tax dollars that we can now safely transfer to the true American "JOB CREATORS," our patriotic plutocrats, the pluperfect one-percent who have saved the USA from the horrors of socialized "everything" but socialized CORPORATE TAX LOOPHOLES and Working Class doldrums and slums.
Your neglect in telling the American people--and your faithful TV audience--the TRUTH about these Republican victories today, when reporting on the uptick in unemployment, tells me that you're no Walter Cronkite, telling Americans and LBJ that the Viet Nam War ought to be brought to an end. That we cannot "win" this war. That took courage. Sorry, Brian, but you're no Walter Cronkite.
And I'm no Edward R. Murrow. And this is not Thanksgiving Day. America has lost its Congressional leaders--except for a rare few, kudos to Sen. Bernie Sanders (VT)--and it has lost the brilliant light of Responsible Journalism. Thank GOD that we still have Fox non-News to show us the way it ought to be done. Long Live Rupert Murdoch. NBC and you, Dr. Williams, cannot do so. That's great for NBC News and for Republicans! What's better yet, Sir? You will NOT do so. Hyah!
