Good evening dahlings… kick off your shoes, fill that wine glass and enjoy this perusal of “insouciant soliloquies” from our kossacks of the day. Yes… it’s an oxymoron to presume any comment within this buzzing community could be a soliloquy, but it happens if you squint your eyes at the comment and tip your head just so…
And we do strive to keep our fair and balanced insouciant attitude bouncing off these orange tube streets so as to coalesce with those insouciant financial policies of our overlords. One way streets suck when the house is on fire and they’ve blocked our escape, so we’re storming the castle to take away their keys to the kingdom. We’re taking the fight to them.
So let's take a little rumba with the insolent insouciant ones hanging at the Big Orange today:
…static interference with the insolent insouciance…
Our moral compass
...all signal, no noise
The lighthearted insouciance diary that had been in the works just shattered to the ground after reading of Meteor’s imminent departure from our community. For insouciance is the farthest thing from my mind this evening. The loss of Meteor’s steady hand… the small encouragements that exponentially mean so much more than he will ever know… pulls at the connectedness of us all in this living web of life. And so an elision from the thoughtless insouciance to Mitakuye Oyasin rose to the surface.
Mitakuye Oyasin is Lakota Sioux for All My Relations. It is a prayer of oneness and harmony with all forms of life.
It is a prayer of respect, honor and love for all mankind, and for the Earth. It is a prayer that says, “I wish goodness and peace for all. I would leave no one out.” I pray for all. It is a prayer that crosses the barriers of religion and can be prayed by one of any faith. It is a prayer that unites instead of dividing.
So, for Meteor Blades and his encompassing energies here that touched every aspect of our community… from the environment to women’s issues to foreign policy… his depth and breadth of knowledge and moral compass provided a respite and positive circle of life for us all to share… is this simple prayer:
Aho Mitakuye Oyasin....All my relations. I honor you in this circle of life with me today. I am grateful for this opportunity to acknowledge you in this prayer....
To the Creator, for the ultimate gift of life, I thank you.
To the mineral nation that has built and maintained my bones and all foundations of life experience, I thank you.
To the plant nation that sustains my organs and body and gives me healing herbs for sickness, I thank you.
To the animal nation that feeds me from your own flesh and offers your loyal companionship in this walk of life, I thank you.
To the human nation that shares my path as a soul upon the sacred wheel of Earthly life, I thank you.
To the Spirit nation that guides me invisibly through the ups and downs of life and for carrying the torch of light through the Ages, I thank you.
To the Four Winds of Change and Growth, I thank you.
You are all my relations, my relatives, without whom I would not live. We are in the circle of life together, co-existing, co-dependent, co-creating our destiny. One, not more important than the other. One nation evolving from the other and yet each dependent upon the one above and the one below. All of us a part of the Great Mystery.
Thank you for this Life.
