All repubs are the same on social issues. I don't actually much worry about the overturning of Roe vs Wade or the repeal of the Civil Rights Act, since their "best and brightest" have been unsuccessful so far.
I don't believe SS, Medicare or Medicaide will end either now, nor in the future. Unfortunately, I do believe there will be "adjustments"...no matter which party is in power. If it weren't for that spending...
All repubs are also the same on military spending, endless wars and spreading democracy. In this (military and related spending) they have been exceptionally successful.
The Republican Debate saw the same ole, same ole. From the perspective of the right...with one exception, Ron Paul.
He's the only one saying what people want to hear...including republicans as proven by his near tie in the Ames Straw Poll with Bachmann.
She won only by the slimmest of margins, even though she's just about a mirror image of the ultra-conservative.
But, Ron Paul's views on the Fed and his opposition to the unproductive, life-wasting, trillion dollar wars and the general "We Must Spread Democracy" diplomacy of the traditional right...also won the night.
What to make of Iowa
Saturday's poll may not say much about which GOP hopeful will eventually come out on top...but it does indicate something about the kind of candidate social conservatives will be backing.
He obviously drew some blood. Check out the MSM. Bet you won't see any Special Feature or Spotlight on Ron Paul. Could get people's attention.
Soooo, you wanna upset the apple cart? Send a message?
Do what you can to spread Ron Paul's name and especially his view that the wars should end. That we can no longer be the worlds police. That he believes we can no longer afford it either financially or morally as our best soldiers die...oh, and as a bonus? He hates the Fed.
At a minimum, I believe if he gained wide acceptance, despite no media coverage, establishment Repubs would finally get the message.
No, I'm not a paid shill. If nothing else, I'm just trying to think outside of the box, 'cause what the Dems are doing right now isn't working.
