I put up a diary yesterday that spoke to my concern that David Patraeus has been appointed head of the CIA, I put it up on three sites and the response has been underwhelming in the extreme, no one else appears to care or see a problem with this. While we drone on endlessly about the candidates and their foibles behind the scenes big stuff is happening that should be getting our attention but it's not, the distractions are working as planned, the conspirators have us where they want us and no one has noticed.
Further thoughts:
I have to admit to being completely flubbergasted by the lack of response to the amazing rise of general Petraeus, apparently I am in a small minority who see this as sinister and boy do I. The government and specifically democrats have handed the keys to our secret international enforcers unit over to a man they were screaming bloody murder at a few years ago and no one in the progressive community is blinking, complaining or shouting from any rooftops, all I hear is the supine sound of silence and maybe a few errant crickets.
Ok, no problem, nothing to see here, the man whose job is to keep us at war interminably as in forever, is now in a position to get his way by hook or by crook, by drone or by stealth and it was the democrats who did this or so it seems. Things are worse than even I had imagined, we have put the general where he needs to be to control our foreign policy and because it is a super secretive agency we won't even have a chance to question or understand whose interests he is representing, this is great, I can see how this will work out just fine; for somebody anyway.
I remember how when I suggested recently that the American empire is out to control the world and specifically and most importantly the Middle East because we crave their resources I was soundly trounced for holding that view. Well, let me say that the appointing of general Petraeus to the head of the CIA is the proof in the pudding at least for me, skullduggery and under the table, behind the scenes manipulation is going to paint the picture they want us to see, the conspirators are winning and we the people are being left out of the conversation entirely.
The CIA is in a position to direct world affairs by creating illusions; that's what they do best, flimflam on a gigantic scale unimaginable a hundred years ago. Theoretically a democratic nation should have no use for a secret organization that operates without the consent of the people, it is just way to easy for such an entity to be controlled and directed by self interested parties who see their interests as above those of the people.
So from my perspective the worst is happening and one of the clues is in the turning over of the CIA to general Petraeus, mark my stubby little words this will not end well. Unless of course you are on the side of the road that relishes eternal war and conquest, the right of the mighty to oppress and steal from the weak while claiming to be bringing democracy and justice, this is all such a horrid joke but I'm not laughing.
Since no one else seems to be perturbed by these events maybe I'm the one who is crazy, I certainly hope so for the countries sake. Maybe putting a general in charge of our foreign policy is actually a stroke of genius; maybe this is one of Obama's famous chess moves that is so far over the average persons head they can't see the wisdom in it and I'm just average, I guess time will tell as it usually does.
And Further:
To illustrate the danger that Petraeus presents we have his actions in Iraq mentioned in the comment above; rather than throw in the towel as advised by the Iraq Study Group the general as generals are prone to do talked the president into investing more money and lives in winning an unwinable war. Instead of leaving as sound minds advised the general saw another way, a way to win his war by escalating (sounds so much more harsh than surging doesn't it?)
Instead of doing what would seem to be the sane thing general Petraeus in his wisdom told the president that if he only had more troops and enough time he could accomplish the mission, a mission that wiser minds viewed as impossible under the circumstances. So yes, thousands have died and billions have been spent because of the actions of David Petraeus and those who he works for; these are dangerous people and they are working in concert to accomplish something they want done and it sure looks like control of the Middle East is one of them.
And we are paying to help them do it, they take our tax dollars and flush them into the sewers of the arms industry. It's a straight shot from your wallet right into the swollen coffers of men who make their money from getting people killed wholesale, by the dozen, en masse, pretty neat trick huh? And contractors and bribes and all the things they need to accomplish their mission coming out of our pockets so they can subdue the Middle East and plant roots and tentacles of control.
That's what they are doing with our money they are investing it in oil not the people of the United States. Here at home we are out of jobs and homes and health with bad schools, bad medicine, bad roads, bad luck and the hope is getting thin. We can't address these problems at home because all of the money is slated to go elsewhere, spending money on the people's interests is obviously not as important to whoever is controlling this nation; is there any other way to see it?
Trillions of dollars and millions of lives are invested in this project to subdue the Middle East; we've been at war for a decade leaking blood and treasure and bringing untold misery to the people of the Middle East. We have already committed the crime of the century and its barely begun.
Is keeping up a certain standard of living worth what we are doing to maintain it. Is the wasteful, consumer oriented, materialistic life we've grown accustomed too really so important to us that we advocate militarily stealing oil from the Middle East, of course that decision is being made for us but?
There are conspiracies alive and well in the United States and one of the things they don't want to talk about are the realities of peak oil, it's running out and they're not making anymore that's it the end or it will be soon. Our lifestyles are based on a cheap energy source, oil has been that source but according to what I hear oil is going to become more and more precious in the near future as it runs out which it will this century, squandering it is not a good idea.
The guy on a show I was watching said that oil will be a three hundred year blip in history, we didn't have it before and it's soon to be gone and another energy source will have to be developed. Too bad we haven't been working on it like we should, we could have prepared for this eventuality but instead were too caught up in the daily consumer rat race that the corporations have set up to squeeze money out of us.
Suffice to say we didn't do the sensible thing and prepare for the future and now it's almost on us and we find that our national pants are down. We've been caught napping in some American daydream; living a life we can't afford and now the only way we can maintain the dream is to conquer the Middle East and confiscate their oil, what are the alternatives?
