My goodness gracious! I have quite literally been trolling around the internets this evening and there is just so much news! It is hard to take it all in. For example: You just have to pity corporations, no one seems to take those people seriously anymore. They apparently are having to hire these things called lobbyists because no one will take their calls! Imagine!
Apparently we have now spent quite literally trillions of dollars (some say up to sixteen trillion and counting!) to bail out bondholders from that unfortunate market slump a few years ago, and it would appear that BoA is going to fold anyway! Apparently the banks did not count on their fellows to sue them, and no one predicted it when Wall Street was busy writing financial reform to prevent such a scenario. I have no doubt that we will hear much about the delicate feelings of savvy business people the world over for some time to come. Get your handkerchiefs ready, this is going to be a real tear jerker.
Tens of thousands are dying of famine in our newest war zone in Somalia due to global warming related drought, or so I read. Maybe we should move the black sites we are paying them to maintain? Seems like such an unstable place, there might be the unintended consequence of someone finding out that we still have them. Luckily we have been putting anyone who might say something about it in prison, so there is that deterrent to any unfortunate leaks.
Apparently we are going to have troops left in Iraq after 2012. This time they have invited us though! That should make all the difference. Afghanistan and Pakistan, I see, are becoming quite colorful. Those drones have done much to relieve the dreary sameness of their tribal existence, no doubt. We should receive our personalized thank you notes any day now.
The President just managed to get through a grueling three day bus tour to outline how critical it is for our elderly, poor and infirm to sacrifice for the well being of people that would not allow them on their lawn. So, that's nice. One would hate to think that there would be no upside for their losing all that money they put into payroll taxes all those years. Not to mention their investments! Maybe when we have these new trade deals passed it will replenish the old coffers and they can send some money down to a Panamanian tax haven for their retirements. Be sure to call your congresspeople and tell them how critical it is that we send jobs off to places where labor organizers are shot and N. Korea can rebuild the demilitarized zone to underwrite its' nuclear program! We all need to be on board so that we can be sure to take advantage of our winning future.
I see that we are going to build a pipeline for Canadian tar sand oil to be sent to Texas. Yay! Sounds like a jobs program to me! Maybe in conjunction with all of those new offshore oil rigs we can get everybody's boats floating; rising tides, doncha know. There is nothing more tedious than being stranded on some dreary mud flat of an economy. Everyone with a yacht says so, so it must be true! We can draw straws for who gets to carry the polar bears.
I see that hundreds of thousands of hispanics are being deported for traffic tickets, among other things. I can remember when one just used to get fined! I'm so glad that we have the internets now to inform us of changes like these. I am going to have to tell our field hands here in Georgia not to do any speeding...if they ever come back from wherever they went to. They should be here, any time now....
And so on and so forth.
Did you hear that there is an election coming up? My how the time flies. I wonder what the issues that this one will turn on are? I am having a hard time remembering what the last ones were, but it really doesn't matter. As long as the candidate has nice teeth; I feel that that is so important! Does anyone have any ideas?
I like to feel like I am informed.
