I got in hot water the other day for criticizing Texas, a state which I essentially grew up in. It was in poor taste, suggesting that Texas has substandard services and, in some places bad roads. I had a lot of feedback on that. So I got to thinking: what state can be criticized? I mean, I have atheist friends here who feel that battling the evils of religion are best done through ridicule, but it seems when you come from someplace, well, it can do no wrong.
So, below the squiggly do-dad, I present Commonmass' List of States Which Cannot Be Criticized
Let's have a romp....
Here's the list of States that are beyond criticism or snark:
Alabama
Alaska
Arizona
Arkansas
California
Colorado
Connecticut

Make a joke or criticize any of these states at your own peril: all are equal. False equivalence is your friend.
Last I checked, the District of Columbia, American Samoa, Guam, the North Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands and other US holdings are fair game.
