According to the AP, the President is set to announce a jobs plan on Thursday that would include $300 billion worth of tax cuts and spending in order to stimulate our once-again weak economy.

Frankly, this is not enough, especially if much of it is conservative-friendly tax cuts which, even if oriented toward the middle class alone, can't do the impact that direct government spending can do. And even if all $300 billion were new government projects (i.e. infrastructure), it still wouldn't be enough to help kick-start the economy right now.
Apparently, the spending aspect of the plan is less than $50 billion. So what we are seeing here, is more capitulation to Republicans before even sitting down at to negotiate. When will this administration realize that, a. the Republicans will never, ever give the White House what they want no matter how reasonable the plan is or how willing the White House is to negotiate, and b. If you're going to propose a plan, you need to go big from the outset to potentially get anything you want. Not to mention, we actually need a large stimulus plan at the moment to help keep our economy from slipping over the edge into oblivion.
Yet again, we receive only the weak action we have come to expect from the President.
