Say it ain't so, Scottie!
Republican Sen. Scott Brown will apparently take campaign money from anyone. And I mean
anyone.
Randy Levine, president of the New York Yankees, donated the maximum $2,500 to the Massachusetts Republican’s re-election campaign last month, according to newly released campaign finance records.[...]
Last week, the GOP incumbent began airing a radio ad heaping praise on Fenway Park and the team owners, finishing with “Go Red Sox!” [...] Now, it turns out, the president of the Yankees helped pay for those ads.
And about that radio ad, it's the one where Brown
waxed eloquent about the glories of Fenway Park, the park that he—as a state senator—tried to get the Sox to abandon for a new stadium that wasn't even going to be in Boston. Brown got a lot of
negative publicity out of that one. The raspberries will keep coming now that we know who paid for that ad.
If Brown keeps this up, he's going to be out in the cold at Fenway.
Let's counter the Evil Empire's Brown donation with some help to his opponent (Yankees fans welcome). Contribute $5 to Elizabeth Warren on Orange to Blue.
