Watching the discourse/self destruction amongst the Republicans is very satisfying.
The extremist who were voted in '10, taking Mitch McConnell's declaration to make Obama a one term President as a blood oath. Bequeathing their intellect to Grover fuckindouchebag Norquist, and in turn making Boehner look like a weak bitch.
All good fun, although frustrating to constituents who want compromise and problem solving in D.C.
But,the more they vehemently oppose, responsible raising of the debt ceiling, jobs bills, payroll tax hikes, more peoples eyes see how much they should not have been voted in. How much worse Congress is working with them in there.
That along with these states who have had Tea Party candidates elected, take over as Gov.'s, become majority in state senates and then go after Unions, reproductive rights, voter rights...I'll bet a lot of TP people didn't sign up for this shit. GOP showing their true colors, turning people the fuck off. All good stuff.
I've had Conservative co workers. Good working class people, but pretty far Right, resistant to vote Blue their whole lives. These people seeing what the Republicans, (the Koch bros. puppets)are trying to do to peoples rights, and saying out loud they don't think they can ever vote Republican again.
Gave me hope that Obama will get another four years to begin to clean up the mess the Repubs created.
But I'm creeped the fuck out a bit.
They're out there.
Mitt will be the nominee, he will blooded and beaten but he be the man. Bask in the beating. From his own side too, fun, forced to argue and debate about their ideology, good capitalism verses vulture. How Obama wants to portray Mitt to the American people will already be imbedded in their heads, its only Jan for fucks sake. The infighting will carry right into the convention. This is probably the hardest Willard's ever worked in his privileged, white collar, 'are these how blues jeans are suppose to look on you' existence.
But there out there.
Not sure how many but I hear them here and there. People who could not care less what happens in the primaries. Who says what about who. Where their poll numbers are.People who will say just put a fuckin name on the ballot.
Anybody but Obama. They out there whether their reasons are financial, racial, whatever.
They are coming in Nov.
I have faith in what will be I'm sure, a very formidable, behemoth of a boots on the ground campaign. But, I think this election will truly show where this country's at. How many peoples minds are in the corner of which side. Not just between the TP types, or the Occupiers. But,the people in between. The ones who want Obama out because he's just not 'their' president for whatever reason they reject him. And, the people who see what the other side has gotten us when they were in charge and things they are doing now.
Mitt might get tougher, he might get like Micky Ward, take a beating and just get tougher to beat,(sorry, he could never compare to the great Micky Ward). And if he picks the right conservative VP?, McCain's people had the right idea but picked the wrong running mate. Get a more respectable, experienced. 'true' conservative, not the frosted flake Mac picked, and could be scary.
Just saying. I still have faith reason will best ignorance...just creeped out a bit.
