I was directed to this article through a tweet by the ever hilarious Canadian Cynic:
You have to read this awesome parody at "The Onion" http://www.foxnews.com/...
One really has to read the column to truly appreciate the reaching abilities of a "Dr" (who writes for Fox) to excuse Newt's little problem with relationships and his complete inability to.....remain faithful?
Of course this is that same "Dr" who decided that painting a boys toenails pink was going to turn the boy gay.
He was also a Dr on Tee Vee, although his show was cancelled.....
Jump over the Orange amoeba.....
According to Ablow, wimmenz just cannot get enough of the Newt-ster!
Gag.
1) Three women have met Mr. Gingrich and been so moved by his emotional energy and intellect that they decided they wanted to spend the rest of their lives with him.
Jeebus.
Lots of women marry arseholes. Arseholes can and often do have multiple marriages.
Some women are attracted to power and/or money. Some like "bad boys".
Con men, also get married often enough. They can shmooze their way in, but their relationships fail too.
2) Two of these women felt this way even though Mr. Gingrich was already married.
Just like MILLIONS of other guys who screw around on their wives. Those women are also seeing married men.
Funny how that works. It's pretty meaningless to even bother to point that out.
4) Two women—Mr. Gingrich’s first two wives—have sat down with him while he delivered to them incredibly painful truths: that he no longer loved them as he did before, that he had fallen in love with other women and that he needed to follow his heart, despite the great price he would pay financially and the risk he would be taking with his reputation.
Um. He dumped them. That happens a lot too. It isn't a great heroic moment. It's dumping. Happens millions of times. How else do you end a relationship? There has been a rumour for many years that Phil Collins asked for a divorce by Fax......
Financial risk? Yes. For those paying alimony and child support.
"The most notorious incident in Gingrich's marriage ... was when he cornered Jackie in her hospital room where she was recovering from uterine cancer surgery and insisted on discussing the terms of the divorce he was seeking. Shortly after that infamous encounter, Gingrich refused to pay his alimony and child-support payments. The First Baptist Church in his hometown had to take up a collection to support the family Gingrich had deserted. Six months after divorcing Jackie, Gingrich married a younger woman, Marianne, with whom he had been having an affair."

Onward, to yet another.....point.... by the Dr.
5) Mr. Gingrich’s daughters from his first marriage are among his most vigorous supporters. They obviously adore him and respect him and feel grateful for the kind of father he was.
Do we really need to go here? Children often support their parents no matter what.
Children that have been horribly abused mentally and/or physically will still sometimes defend the parent that did it, even in adulthood.... They have been conditioned to do so. They even may feel threatened in some way. Like having any relationship cut off, such as it is.
It can really go either way. Ablow is reaching over the cliff.
Now for the BIG finish.
Then you can go get sick.
So, as far as I can tell, judging from the psychological data, we have only one real risk to America from his marital history if Newt Gingrich were to become president: We would need to worry that another nation, perhaps a little younger than ours, would be so taken by Mr. Gingrich that it would seduce him into marrying it and becoming its president. And I think that is exceedingly unlikely.
Holy crap. He fell over it.
This article falls under "opinion".
Which is good, because it sure as hell would not pass an actual psychiatric review.
Or even a common sense review.
Disclaimer: To be perfectly clear, a persons private life is just that. I realllllllllllllllly don't care about Newt's sex life. Partly because it is no ones business but his own, and the women who are asinine enough to be a part of his life.... and also because the thought of Newt having sexual relations makes me nauseous.
But do not tell me that all of these relationship issues make him a better person or a Jim dandy prezdent.
They just make him like others in the population who have screwed up their own marriages.
What is however truly disturbing, is the ability of the Right Wing (and Tee Vee Doctors) to make so many excuses for him, while making judgements on everyone else.
