Estate of Gingrich's is the supremest thing upon earth; for Newt is not only God's lieutenant upon earth, and sit upon God's throne, but even by God himself is called god. There be three principal similitude's that illustrate the state of Presidency: one taken out of the word of God; and the two other out of the grounds of policy and philosophy. In the Scriptures Newt called the god, and so his power after a certain relation compared to the divine power. are also compared to fathers of families; for a Gingrich is truly parens patriae, the politic father of his people. And lastly, are compared to the head of this microcosm of the body of man.
~Gingrich I of the Theocratic Republic of America
One has to admire his choice of religious bigot
“Newt Gingrich is only one that I can confidently say has the heart, experience, backbone, Constitutional brilliance, and intellectual strength to defeat Obama and lead America back to greatness” said Sheets.
Dutch Sheets, is that some poor translation of dutch cap?
He doth go on
Our government is in decay. The current leaders of Congress promote homosexuality, abortion and socialism, while arrogantly ignoring God and the wishes of the people. They are proud, power-hungry, self-serving, career politicians, not the statesmen/women we so desperately need. Our President fits the same description.
Am I the only one that when a candidate begins to feel he has divine right that:
1] They really cannot be trusted with a big red button
2] Nine one one needs to be dialed.
Until god/goddess actually writes an op-ed in a well known journal detailing their support, I'm inclined to think that their ego has not only flown over the Cuckoo's nest, but a straight jacket need s ordering.
This faith leaders coalition is nothing more than:
1] A committee to wash the sins of the past.
2] An assembly to justify every hypocritic bigotry known to man.
I will stick with these explanations of the first amendment
The Civil Rights of none shall be abridged on account of religious belief or worship, nor shall any national religion be established, nor shall the full and equal rights of conscience be in any manner, nor on any pretext infringed. No state shall violate the equal rights of conscience or the freedom of the press, or the trial by jury in criminal cases.
James Madison
"No religion shall be established by law, nor shall the equal rights of conscience be infringed,"
House Select Committee, JUL-28 1789
"Believing with you that religion is a matter which lies solely between man and his God, that he owes to none other for his faith or his worship, that the legislative powers of government reach actions only, and not opinions, I contemplate with solemn reverence that act of the whole American people which declared that their legislature should 'make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof,' thus building a wall of separation between Church and State."
Thomas Jefferson
Pandering to the talibangelical wing should be considered as unconstitutional and immediately disqualify you for running for office.
Sadly to say, that is the Republican base and it authoritarian and theocratic tendency.
Small government, not a chance, just one interpreted by religious dogma.
