No, I can't say I nailed him or whatever, but I can say we talked a long time. Last year, for a project as a film student about the financial crisis, I got to interview Josh Bolten, the former White House Chief of Staff under Bush (also relevent: interviewing Professor Lawrence J. White, one of the Co-Authors of "Guaranteed to Fail: Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and the Debacle of Mortgage Finance, and he too was fantastic). Bolten's largely credited with bringing Treasury Secretary Paulson into the fold. I've been looking for a while for something more to do with this video, but as time has gone on, this documentary is becoming slightly dated, so I figured I ought to post it now.
To his credit, even if I disagree with Josh on many things, he did sit down with me for a very long time and do his best to answer whatever questions popped into my head. Professor White was similarly gracious. Anyway, while this video may not be as liberal as I am, I hope that it gets the message about the crisis across, and that it is as informative as I want it to be.
