Tonight I listened to speeches from Rick Santorum, Newt Gingrich, and Ron Paul in the wake of Mitt Romney's thumping of all of the above in the Florida Republican primary. Each speech was repulsive in its own way. I did not have the opportunity to mittness the victor's speech.
But, and I don't mean that it the "butt of the joke" kind of way (maybe), there were two words I didn't hear mentioned by any of these illustrious candidates/wordsmiths/panderers/crackpots/future Romney-running-mates.
In case my headline wasn't enough of a clue (in other words, if you're passing through from Red State) here are the two words that I heard no Republican candidate mention tonight:
1) Tea
2) Party
Sure sure - dog whistles from Trifecta Newt and F-Mix and Crazy Uncle Ron, but I defy anyone here to come up with a quote or a clip that includes the words "Tea" and "Party" in that order. I'll go out on a limb and wager ($10,000 in Monopoly dollars) that you won't find it in Willard's speech to the little people either (although it may take awhile to trickle down).
Go ahead. Prove me wrong. I'll wait (while humming a song that begins with Ding Dong...)
