Today I received a helpful little postcard from my State Senator. It's sooooo nice that he's thinking of his constituents. Super!
This is my first diary, but again, the rethugs in WI have raised my hackles.
Dear 23rd Senate District Resident,
We are sending this postcard to inform you that your name is shown up on a recall petition against State Senator Terry Moulton. We have discovered a large number of questionable signatures through our initial inspection of recall petitions, so we wanted to ensure that you did in fact sign the petition, and that your signature was not added mistakenly or fraudulently.
If you DID NOT sign a recall petition against Terry Moulton between the dates of November 15, 2011 and January 14, 2012 please contact us immediately at 715.255.0755, or email us at fraudcheck@terrymoulton.com.
Thank you,
Terry Moulton for Senate Campaign Team
Paid for Committee to Elect a Republican Senate, Scott Fitzgerald, Treasurer
What a great way to further the false idea that there are a "large number of questionable signatures."
My signature was not questionable. It was clear, dark, legible and deliberate. I drove to the recall office down the road, parked my car, walked in and asked for the petition to recall you.
Also, what a great way to show how diligent the Republicans of WI are. I'm sooooo glad they're looking out for my welfare (and the welfare of my students and my own children). They were also looking out for my welfare when they slashed my paycheck, stripped me of my collective bargaining rights, and hacked my school's budget. So kind of them.
But last, and this is what really makes me cringe, what a great way to intimidate those who signed the petition. Since the GAB has not posted the petitions online yet -- there are legal issues with domestic violence victims -- this is a great way to let those petition signers out there know: WE KNOW WHO YOU ARE AND WHERE YOU LIVE. Nice. Now I feel like a victim, too. A victim of political abuse.
Lovely, Mr. Moulton. Thank you.
