In the race for President I know what a national poll is, but what I want to know is why anyone should care about them?
This is a state-by state election!
Aren't national polls somewhat worthless? This is a state-by-state race. I do not care at all what anyone in Texas or California thinks because we know how those states are going to go.
I have some basic questions about national polls:
1. Do they poll people in every state even states that are clearly settled one way or the other?
2. Isn't it true that no matter what the national polls say every election cycle 20+ states vote the other way (e.g. in 2008 Obama led in the national polls but McCain won lots of states)?
I understand you can make some broad argument that they might show you something or another, but really they are nearly worthless and certainly far less important than state polls.
I do hope someone can tell me if these daily tracking polls do poll people in well settled states like Texas, California etc.
And if they do I really could care less about them.
