Katherine Fenton, the 24 year old pre-kindergarten teacher who asked a question in the last debate about pay disparity between men and women, is getting smeared by the wingnutters. Media Matters describes it:
Conservative media figures attacked debate questioner Katherine Fenton as a "feminazi" and "tool" for asking the candidates about their views on pay inequity. Conservative author Matthew Vadum attacked the premise of the question as a "feminazi leftist lie."
.
This seems to be just the beginning. A website calling itself The Washington Free Beacon is further smearing Fenton by posting tweets supposedly from her twitter account, since taken down, under the headline "Party girl questioner loves joose, hates cops, and women who watch sports."
If you read the Beacon smear and want an antidote to the slime, see link for Topsy.com. Topsy.com has taken the Free Beacon to task by posting comments excoriating the disgusting behavior of anonymous staff who are attacking this private citizen.
Of course, what the wing-nuts don't like is the fact that Romney failed in his debate performance. Fenton's question, which was actually directed to the President, elicited the "binders full of women" comment that the Romney camp hates to see out there.
Most right-wing talk radio begins around noon with Lush Rimbaugh followed by Hannity. But in Atlanta, Neal Boortz has picked up the Beacon libel and spread the word on his show. Based on these tweets, Boortz doesn't believe Fenton is an undecided voter. He can't stand the fact that the "binders full of women" comment has gotten such traction and is making Romeny, once again, a laughing stock. Boortz actually said this morning: "What if he had said 'binders full of CEOs' or 'binders full of men'? We wouldn't be talking about this." So his answer is to continue the smear.
I don't think this is the last of it. By the way, Fenton says she's still undecided.
