Besides Judge Simpson voting down the voter ID laws, I have some more good news coming from Pennsylvania. Senator Bob Casey Jr. (D) is back out swinging with a brand new ad. Continuing with his theme of "not your cup of tea", Casey released a new ad hitting wealthy coal baron, Tea Party Tom Smith (R) for wanting to raise taxes on the middle class for wanting to give himself a $250,000 tax break. Check it out:
The ad uses Tea Party Tom Smith's own words about how he wants to simplify the tax code so he can give himself and his wealthy buddies more tax breaks. Smith, a wealthy coal mine owner from Armstrong County, has a net worth is between $60 to $70 million and has been outspending Casey in ads, causing the race to tighten. Casey has noticed this and knows that despite still being in the lead, this race is not over. To quote Cypress Hill, Casey "Ain't goin' out like that." and is fighting back:

The Casey camp, monitoring its opponent's ad buys, says Smith has spent $4.2 million on commercials since the April Republican primary, in which he outspent several GOP rivals.
Casey, with "limited resources," has been hoarding much of his campaign cash for the final weeks of the contest and has spent $1.5 million on TV to date, his campaign manager, Larry Smar, said.
Casey started running TV ads in Philadelphia only on Friday. Until then, Smar said, the candidate hadn't spent a nickel in the state's largest TV market. He now hopes to blunt any further Smith gains.
"Smith has been saying for a long time that this is going to be a $20 million race," Smar said. "He has made clear that he is going to keep dumping money into it."
Smar said Casey had been keeping up with Smith in the Pittsburgh TV market, where ad rates are less expensive. - Philadelphia Inquirer, 10/1/12

Tea Party Tom Smith campaigned on pushing for a flat tax during the GOP primary:
The ad highlights these facts about a flat tax:
"A flat tax would generally make the tax system more regressive," and the "burden on lower-income groups." - New York Times, 10/19/11
&
Tom Smith's "advocacy of a flat national income tax would put him to the right of Romney." - Associated Press, 7/19/12
To the right of Romney on taxes?!? That's not good at all, especially since President Obama is crushing Romney in Pennsylvania. Tea Party Tom Smith would be a disaster in reforming the tax code if elected to the Senate and he would help push our economy off the fiscal cliff. Tea Party Tom Smith has been endorsed by FreedomWorks and the Tea Party Express. Casey on the other hand supports tax breaks for small businesses and is against unfair trade laws. Casey has been endorsed by the AFL-CIO and the League Of Conservation. Here are some great ads that highlight how Casey has helped Pennsylvania and American jobs in the U.S. Senate:
This is my personal favorite ad from Casey:
Mike Butler, finance director for the Casey campaign, emailed me today that Casey surpassed his FEC deadline goal last night. It couldn't be more more obvious who the good guy is in this race. Casey will always be a fighter against unfair trade laws and a fighter for the middle class. Tea Party Tom Smith will fight to send jobs overseas and give the rich more tax breaks. Pennsylvania already has Pat Toomey (R), who Dick Armey, head of FreedomWorks, deemed "the original tea party candidate" in the Senate. The last thing they need is two teabaggers who will serve Wall Street and send jobs overseas. You know what to do, help Casey win in November:
