Unless y'all have been under a rock for a number of weeks (perhaps under 1 of the rocks in Gov. Mittwit's brainz), you know the first debate between the aforementioned Mittwit & President Obama is tomorrow night in Denver, CO. I've been to Denver a couple of times, but it's been a long time since my last trip. Mountains really aren't my shtick, but I do remember a tour through the US Mint with my Dad; that's about it.
So, how 'bout a little Denver - esque music?
On to "this day in history"... On October 2, 1869, Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, the Indian nationalist leader whose philosophy of nonviolence influenced movements around the world, was born. On October 2, 1890, Groucho Marx was born in New York. Yea, we need some clips. :D
Finally, on October 2, 1967, Thurgood Marshall was sworn in as an associate justice of the U.S. Supreme Court, becoming the first African - American to serve on the high court. The 2nd African - American to serve on SCOTUS...uh...well...
Let's get SPARKy! :D Today's BRILLIANT criminal needs to add a little more commitment to his "chosen profession." A word of advice - don't get sick in Egypt [NOT for those with a weak stomach]! Finally, y'all think I'd get left alone at work if I donned one of these? Nah...me, too, neither.
On with The Rachel Maddow Show!
"Breaking News: Rediscovered Videos of President Obama & Rep. Ryan Posted Online" - The MENSA folk they have an October surprise or something? I guess they're all agog over video of then - candidate Barack Obama that's been available on the intertubz for awhile. They ain't MENSA folk for nothing! The magic of video making Gov. Mittwit & the Mittwit Running Mate look like real wieners is fresh off the shelf, boys & girls. That 47% comment wasn't well received by many undecided voters; those comments shouldn't be well received by anyone with a conscious. NOW, there's video of the Mittwit Running Mate claiming "only 70% of Americans want the American dream." Boy, those 2 DO go together like a boil & a lance. Ryan Grim was the lucky recipient of the newest video making the MENSA ticket look like a$$ clowns.
"State of the Race" - So, I haz teh confused here. Just what does the Drudge Report think they have? There's video of Barack Obama giving a compliment about Rev. Jeremiah Wright. O...K... THAT'S gonna bring down the Obama presidency? Ah...they're resorting to good 'ol fashioned race - baiting. Got it! This is now "Obama's Other Race Speech." Wow, these "people" are damn desperate, yes? Newt Tiffany's Gingrich has been race - baiting for awhile, now. It would appear the Mittwit camp took some of Newtie's advice about "race relations" by showing industrious white American workers in ads with captions that President Obama will no longer make welfare recipients work. CLASSY!
"The Interview" - Yippie - sparkin' - skippy...I got to see the Mannity tonight. Thanks Rachel! Steve Schmidt's in - studio to discuss...uh...what, I wonder? So, if Gov. Mittwit tanks tomorrow night, they'll use "that other race speech" video to dog - whistle racism from now until Election Day. Mr. Steve doesn't think anyone will be talking about this video Thursday morning; the FAUX News folk & their ilk won't shut up about it.
"Fake I.D." - There are billboards in MA telling folks to show their I.D. to vote; there is no voter I.D. requirement in MA. This ilk's been happening in other places, too - trying to scare people away from the polls who are afraid they won't have the proper I.D. So, if you can't win in court or in the voting booth, just confuse & frustrate the electorate enough that they'll decide to stay the spark home & not vote at all. Folk are trying this $hit in Mississippi, now. Meanwhile, in PA, their voter I.D. law got stopped...sort of. Polling workers can still ask voters to see I.D. - even though no I.D. is required. NICE! Early voting has begun in OH. Joan Fitz - Gerald gets honest - to - goodness voter fraud duty. Even though some of these voter suppression efforts have been halted in state courts, people, again, will be & probably are confused & frustrated. Ads in PA telling folk they'll need photo I.D. are still being run; today's decision didn't really stop that yet.
