What a bad, horrible, awful, not-great week Scott Brown had. And who deserves it more? According to
67 percent of you, no one. You voted, so let's get to it.
He's been running an ad attacking Elizabeth Warren, saying that she fought asbestos victims in a major lawsuit and used the Boston Globe as his source. The problem? He lied in the ad about what the Globe reported. His ad says Warren worked against the victims and for the company, but the victims' lawyers told the Globe they were on her side, and she worked with them. So the Globe called him out for "misleadlingly" using their story.
John English blasts Scott Brown for insulting him and his father's memory.
But that was small potatoes compared to what he really stepped in on this asbestos case. He's so invested in the narrative that Warren worked against, instead of with, these victims that he
accused the family of asbestos victims appearing in Warren ads about the case of being paid actors. Those family members
did not take kindly to that accusation, and Brown was forced to apologize, but not without being a dick about it.
"She's been the one who's been representing those large corporations against those victims. It's unfair. I should have verified it. I said I was sorry and I want to reiterate that," he said.
Yes, he actually blamed Warren for his being a total asshole about these people, and it's not fair that his being a massive jerk about it is coming back to bite him in the ass.
Making this even more rich, it came on the heels of the revelation that homeless people were being paid to say they support him. He should have stuck with the homeless people, because his real supporters are pretty damned embarrassing. So far, there's been no response from Brown for having featured a sexist, racist, homophobic, anti-Semite so prominently in his campaign advertising. But said sexist, racist, homophobic, anti-Semite has scrubbed his Facebook site of the evidence.
Speaking of Brown's ads, Carol Gorman doesn't know why she's appearing in an ad for Brown, since she's a Warren volunteer, and is demanding that the ad be pulled. She met Brown when he was campaigning, shook his hand and explained to him, in depth, why she would not be voting for him. But the cameras only got the handshake and that's all they needed for the ad. An ad about how Massachusetts women were supporting Brown. Oops.
Let's see, what else? Oh, yeah. Mr. Independent is being supported by a Super PAC that is almost entirely funded by one of the Koch brothers' oil and gas company. But, no, Brown isn't at all beholden to big oil.
Then there's Vietnam veteran Doug Sterner, the inspiration for Brown's "Stolen Valor" bill making it illegal to falsely claim military honors. He told the press that when Brown said in the last debate that he "served in Afghanistan," Brown was "misleading" voters, since that service was two weeks of guard duty in which he saw no action. "I think it does go to an issue of personal character and that concerns me," said Sterner.

To top it all off, Warren smoked him in fundraising and in polling.
As far as bad weeks go, Brown's was as disastrous as they come and it couldn't have happened to a more deserving guy. But we can make it a whole lot worse. Don't have any compunctions about kicking this particular guy when he's down, not when we can help bury his campaign.
So pop open a beer, pour a glass of wine, and join in the fun of giving Scott Brown his just desserts. It's time for Hell to Pay!
Pile on! Contribute here to Elizabeth Warren.
4:13 PM PT: There were some other pretty deserving candidates this week, so if you're feeling extra generous, think about kicking in for them:
4:34 PM PT: So getting rid of Brown will be an instant upgrade to the Senate, but so would getting all these folks there. Consider donating to another of our Senate candidates to give Warren some help in the Senate.
4:52 PM PT: I don't think you folks are as vindictive as me. I want to bury his Senate career. Can we get 25 donations to do that?
5:10 PM PT: How much does Meteor Blades rock? This much:
I will match contributions in any amount....up to a total of $100. Here's a chance to double your money and give Warren more oomph for the next 17 days, folks.
wOOOt MB!
5:29 PM PT: Just a few more donations and we're there. And with MB matching, you're doubling your money!
C'mon, you know you want to inflict a little pain here.
