This isnt going to be too long, and if you want me to delete it I will. But I felt pretty damn irritated at a site that for a while had suckered me into using it as my one stop shop for polls.
Last night I was up late studying for a mid-term. Early on in the night, the SUSA poll came out showing us up three on Ohio with great early voting numbers. Sweet! And by the time I went to sleep 7 hours later around 3am (I hate law school sometimes) it had not been added to the RCP average, even though I remember many times before where they added polls in the middle of the night. Oh well I thought....
And now I get up three hours later (again, don't go to law school if you like lots of sleep) and check to see, and SUSA has been added! Along with a single-day poll of Ohio from the house of Ras showing a tie race there. It is as if they commissioned the fucking thing because they knew a SUSA poll was coming that day.
Maybe it was just coincidence, but this has happened too much in recent weeks for that to be the case. Anything to avoid that damn blue arrow pointing upwards on Obama in a swing state. That would break the narrative of Romney surging and winning! They couldn't even let us have that for a couple hours, nope.
I could just be grumpy because of three hours of sleep, who knows. But this morning, I'd like to say, fuck you realclearpolitics, I call bullshit. That is all. I am off to take an evidence midterm.
7:04 AM PT: So many are telling me that SUSA was actually in the average a couple hours before Ras' poll. Fine, my headline is incorrect technically. But I stand by my greater point about RCP. And for people who checked it at night before they went to sleep, and again this morning, they see Obama move down .2 points. Race tightening! Sigh....I'm off to take a mid term. :-/
