A sustainable agricultural resource! What to do when life gives you lemons in the form of abnormally warm winters, and early thaws? When the mountain pine beetle begins to thrive to such a degree that they have two hatches per season now instead of one?
Well you take those silly lemons and make beautiful lemonade out of blue fungus stained siding and sell it on the internet! That's what you do!
I mean just look at this beautiful siding!!! When the bark beetles kill off their host trees they do it mostly by infesting the pines with blue fungus. While the fungus does its dirty work it stains the wood with a delightful blend of celestial, azure and cyan blues!
And its cheap and easy to make! It comes down so easy because the wood is tinder dry from dying in place and free standing all summer long. It is just going to rot and/or burn in place anyways so why not make flooring out of it?
This new, renewable industry, is just ONE of the AMAZING benefits that sudden and exponentially increasing climate change will bring to our beautiful ecosphere. So get in on the climate change adaption bandwagon now before you lose your spot in the next great resource extraction event!
Here is another picture of the final product ready to go. You simply can't make this yourself, you need the industrious, busy little bark beetle to help you!
what wonderful little creatures, aren't they cute!!!
The industrious little mountain pine bark beetle and its happy-go-lucky little cousin the western pine beetle are doing their very best to produce only the finest artisan products in North America. Sooooooo buy now before the entire forest is completely decimated!
and they will
be
so
decimated
(below is only five year's worth of expansion)
This instructional video from the University of Colorado might inspire you to start CUTTING DOWN THOSE TREES!!!
(note: this is a snark blog, the video is really important to understand just how horrible this deforestation by climate change really is).
