Yesterday, The Des Moines Register published its endorsement of Mitt Romney. All 277 words of it. As Jonathan Chait pointed out on Twitter this morning, it's absurd (the argument and the writing).
Its argument for electing Romney is basically as follows:
1) Romney was a governor, and before that a successful business executive
2) The state in which he was a governor was a liberal state (ignoring the obvious fact, of course, that Romney was much more moderate then, and that MA doesn't like him now)
3) He ran the 2002 Olympics.
That's it. That's all of it. Well done, Des Moines Register.
