Hey folks. Didn't see the debate as my girlfriend hates politics, and I didn't want to force her into her own private hell.
So, my take isn't on the debate, but specifically on the DKos Handwringers Klub.
You know who you are.
First thing I noticed upon coming in here (I couldn't sleep), was the high prevalence of voices I haven't seen here in a long while. I won't mention any names, specifically, and I won't call them trolls, because I just think they enjoy being nervous.
But they sure are all OVER this site tonight. Like a wet blanket. Like a virus. Like a disease.
I have been wondering why the site was so pleasant, lately. They've been absent.
ALL the negative comments about BO tonight are by people I haven't seen in months.
I check their mojo, and every single one of them has a middling-to-poor rating.
And they're convinced...........CONVINCED that the sky is falling.
They're confident.............CONFIDENT that they know better than the black Democrat named Barack Hussein Obama who got elected in 2008.
They're worried.................WORRIED that we're gonna lose!!!
Don't pay them any heed.
They'll crawl back into the woodwork, until the next time they can spout their "concern"
They always do.
GOTV baby!!!!
Some calm analysis by Josh Marshall, over at TPM (pretty similar to Kos's):
The Obama team isn’t going to try to get into a fight about whether their guy was on his game. There’s no point. (This is what I meant a couple days ago when I said Obama is not a great debater. Not a great night. But I’ve never seen him great at debating.) What I fully expect, what they’ll do if they’re smart is go full court press on Romney’s numbers and press for details about his budget plan.
The numbers simply don’t add up. Over a few news cycles that can build up really fast. He says he’ll push massive upper income tax cuts and those have to come at the cost of much higher deficits or big tax hikes for middle income people. His campaign agenda is based on a massive deception.
That’s the vulnerability Romney brings out of this debate. And it may be bigger than people realize.
