Now that Democratic Majority Whip Dick Durbin has said that Social Security doesn't add a penny to the deficit and has basically joined Majority Leader Harry Reid's call to "not mess with Social Security", it is vital for the middle class for President Obama to publicly say that Social Security is off the table. We also need a public commitment from the President that the promise of our earned benefit Medicare will not be broken, and that he will not accept raising the eligibility age nor any cuts to beneficiaries. It would be nice to hear him talk about Medicare being able to negotiate for drug prices to cut costs but it is more important that the Fix the Debt confidence men do not get their way. It's time that we stuff the fact that our earned benefits Social Security and Medicare are not going to up to the whim of gluttonous, self-important Villagers who make a living by brown-nosing Wall Street and K Street. And we need to let the President know that Medicaid is a crucial part of the safety net and those protected by the safety net have sacrificed enough for this country. It's time that Wall Street to pay to fix the mess that they made.

Let's make sure that we use the correct frame for the Big 3. They are Earned Benefits because we pay into them and we have earned them when we retire. Let's make sure that it's understood that Wall Street acts Entitled when they don't want to pay for the cost of what the Great Recession did to this country. They trashed the hotel room, and they need to pay the bill. I would also love for people to call the Villagers "leeches" or some other parasitic name for the nature of their true function in Washington and that they gave up their right to be respected as journalists a long time ago.
