I saw Senator Patty Murray yesterday say that let's go ahead and do what both sides want--tax cuts for the 98 percent....and then go to work on negotiations and compromise on the other stuff where there are differences. I've seen President Obama and other leading democrats say the same thing.
I think this is in error. The republicans in government can have the tax cuts for the 98 percent tomorrow by noon if they so desire. And they do not choose to have it. They do not want A, unless it is accompanied by B and C heading toward Z.
Whatever that is, it is not REALLY wanting something or being in full agreement with it. So let's not give them a big undeserved break and pretend that it is in our talking points.
