Ah, the lunch rush is beginning - just as the opening lines are finally beginning to abate.

There are, thankfully, no children in here at the moment. There was a brief incident where a 2 year old almost pulled the "voters please line up here" sign onto himself. It's plexiglass, so it could have done him some serious hurt. He was standing there, pushing and pulling the sign and it was wobbling and almost fell over twice as I watched in horror- I knew it wouldn't end well. His mama ignored him until I begged her to watch out for him before he got hurt. Nothing in here was designed for anyone under the age of 14 - all glass and brick and steel, with delicate standing signs, hard edged tables, sharp corners on my desk...
Not a safe place.
Itzl is worried about the children. Please, if there are children in your polling place, make sure they are safe even if their parents ignore them. Voting is important, but so is preventing a possible tragedy.
