If you've sent me a Kosmail about TC Kossacks, you have been added to the group. Right now I'm the only admin-if you want to be an admin, let me know. I think we need at least 2.
I'm trying to keep the first one free-no admission, no parking fees, transit friendly, eating places nearby for those that want it but no obligations. I don't want anybody to think they can't afford to attend! Please hop below the squiggle for details.
If you have any other suggestions, please let me know.
Solar Arts Building Open House
The Solar Arts Building is in NE Minneapolis. Here's the blurb from the website:
[The new owners] retained the historic character of the building – with it’s well-worn wood and cast iron – and renovated it using only the most eco-friendly materials and equipment. They then topped the whole thing off – literally – with 109 solar panels to let the sun power the pure creativity of its tenants.
Those tenants include over a dozen artists and creative professionals, Indeed Brewing Company, and a great event space to play host to Northeast Minneapolis’s thriving arts scene.
The Harriet Brewing Taproom
The website is down to one page-they are revamping-but looks like they have live music and Ghandi Majal (excellent Indian restaurant) is very close. Located at 3036 Minnehaha Avenue.
20th Annual Women's Art Festival
Here is their website blurb:
Now held at the Midtown YWCA in Minneapolis, the event has grown to include over 100 women artists working in a large variety of media. There is live music by women performers throughout the day and a women-owned coffee shop providing food, beverages and treats. Artists and guests alike comment on the quality of the artistic work, the fun and comfortable atmosphere, the caliber of the music and the wonderful addition of good food, good coffee and the chance to see good friends.
Como Park
Open until 4 on Saturdays in winter.
Minneapolis Institute of Arts
