MF Global epitomizes what is wrong with our system, it is gamed completely to funnel wealth from individuals to the people that are "corporations" specifically financial institutions. So MF has gotten some play in the media but a few key points are not emphasized as they should be. The Wall Street Journal recently had an article called Money From MF Global Feared Gone in which they state a significant amount of funds may have "vaporized" magically.
So how does money vaporize? I have some credit card debt and a mortgage I would like to vaporize. Per the Wall Street Journal:
As the sprawling probe that includes regulators, criminal and congressional investigators, and court-appointed trustees grinds on, the findings so far suggest that a "significant amount" of the money could have "vaporized" as a result of chaotic trading at MF Global during the week before the company's Oct. 31 bankruptcy filing, said a person close to the investigation.

The real story here is
-The customer money that was supposed to be segregated was not.
-Other banks were prioritzed got any crumbs after bankruptcy and not individuals
See that is how money is vaporized, one bank has it and then it is commingled in some type exotic fashion with another bank and then it is the property of the other bank, then some CDS blows up something and the individuals money is now some other banks money.
People that vaporize money need to go to jail. This video shows how they do it...
Poof it's Gone!
