During the 20th Century’s Great Depression the American government employed millions of unskilled workers through the Works Progress Administration (WPA) to built parks throughout the country. In almost every community today there are parks, bridges, and schools which were built by the WPA. More than 70 years later, the WPA parks are still bringing enjoyment to people and enriching their lives. Photographs of one of these WPA parks are below the little squiggly thing.
A quick word about the canon shown above: It used to be in front of city hall. I did not steal the canon and shoot beer cans out of it in spite of what the local legend says.
