Someone tell me this isn't a plot from a WWII documentary expose. One that got confiscated and misplaced in a time before instant imaging. Actually, that statement is a complete assumption on my part. Maybe there are some here that have specific knowledge of the Catholic's part in Mussolini's reign, if so please fill me in. I don't really have any specifics myself, but there must have been some sort of Quid pro quo going on. I mean 'Quid pro quo' is Latin for god's sake.
That's not really what this diary is about, however. It's about unity. We are in a battle people, and the joining of the Catholic Church to the GOP and the hypocrisy of statements like; the President is assaulting 'freedom of religion', when in essence what we are witnessing is an adroit assimilation of Blue State religion (Catholicism) with the Red State religions who were already in bed with the Corporatocracy buying our congress to form an enemy right out of World Wide Wresling.
Religion is in no way losing its freedom. Religion is being forced upon the country and it is 'we the people' that are losing our freedoms. I'm talking about the same freedoms that created this country, freedom from the religious persecution of Europe circa. Eighteenth C. The same wedding, it you will, of church and what was then the state; monarchs. And, its happening again right here, right now.
How, you ask? Simple, the Catholic Church has gone to where the money is. The poor are no longer worth anything, ask Mitt. What does the Catholic Church care of the dividing of this country's citizens and their impact in the covenant of involvement? The center of the church is in Italy, where women get groped regularly and pigeon droppings are under everyone's finger nails.
We need to flood the airwaves... oh, that's right, we don't control the airwaves. OK Let's Occupy the Vatican. Yeah, right. Have you seen those Swiss guards? It's no wonder the priests are such pedophiles.
Look, these people are trampling history. Pilgrims didn't come here to escape taxes, they came here to escape religious intolerance. The same intolerance that thinks church doctrine rises above the freedoms of the citizens of the nation. The same intolerance that kept women from voting or owning property. The same intolerance that has a history of obstructing science, innovation, and the assimilation of different cultures, ideas and ways. The same intolerance that now thinks its righteous fantasy of ordained life places the teachings of the Catholic Church above the people, above the law and above the Constitution. The adhesion to church dogma by our politicians jeopardizes this nation more than contraception, more than abortions, more than gay marriage, and more than mutual consenting adult sex.
That's about all I have to say. I don't have a solution. I'm ready to help, if anyone can figure out how to beat this un-holy alliance. The only thing I can think of is; follow the money. Trouble is, the numbers are, well, numbing. Millions of people live on less money per year than our 1%ers earn overnight, as they sleep. The GOP works for those 1%ers. Ergo the Bush tax breaks that broke the budget linger, and any mention of stimulus spending is obstructed by the R's.
The only thing I really want to see, is for the Catholic Church to pay those they've wronged, and to start paying tax in this country if they want to meddle in our politics.
