I've been arguing for years (for example here) that Obama should supplement his speeches with artfully done visual aids like charts and graphs. I mean, what's the downside? Great visuals can amplify the power of any presentation.
Remember Ross Perot? He was snickered at and outright mocked by the corporate media for using charts and graphs in his addresses. Then somebody polled the issue and discovered that--whaddya know?--the public actually likedthem.
Guess what? You can now view a slide show that goes with the recent State of the Union address here. So kudos to the WH for taking steps in this direction.
Maybe somebody can help: I couldn't find a video that combined the slides with the audio of the speech. Don't know if it's available or not, but it should be.
