I did it - I Googled Santorum. After reading about Santorum's JFK comments I was looking for a Politico article I'd read the other day about his campaign complaining that he just wanted to talk economy but everyone else was bringing up religion.
And then I saw it - The highlighted paid search ad at the top of my Google results. If you don't know, those are Pay Per Click ads and the owner of the ad will pay a premium based on the volume of searches on any particular term. This can run an advertiser anywhere from ten cents to ten bucks. So I took a look. The results are both instructive and entertaining. More after the fold...
Here are shots of the prices and related search terms that Google suggested, in order of how expensive they are..
So Googling "Mitt Romney's Father" and clicking on the highlighted search ad at the top will cost Mittens $8.42. And Googling "Rick Santorum Fetus" (while wholly unpleasant) will cost Slick Rick $6.32.
I'll make this real easy for you... Let me google that for you. And a matching one for Mitt. All you'll need to do is click the highlighted search at the top of your result.
