This will be a short rant on the asshole otherwise known as Rick Santorum.
So as everyone now knows, Santorum wanted to throw up at JFK's pronouncement to follow our Constitution and keep the church and state separate. What confounds me is that at no time, on any show, by any commentator or guest or moderator, was it thrown back in his face that the Separation of Church & State is enshrined in the Constitution of the United States of America.
"Amendment I
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."
George Stephanopulos just sat there smiling vapidly and letting him spew his hateful vitriol without saying a word. Chris Matthews, et al, sat around discussing because JFK is his supposed hero, but no one came out and said that it is part of our constitution which republicans are so fond of saying they want to defend.
Why is that I wonder? Are they afraid because santorum thinks he's the second coming of Jesus and they're afraid of upsetting the religious fanatics in this country?
Here's the thing....I want a President of the United States who will not let his or her religious convictions overrule decisions which could be for the benefit of the entire country. I want a President of all the People not a Holy Roman Emperor beholden to the antiquated beliefs of the Catholic Church or any other church.
So I challenge any supposed pundit out there: Tell that asshole that the Separation of Church and State is enshrined in our Constitution and to shut the hell up!
Then onto the "President Obama is a snob because he wants everyone to go to college"
Excuse me??? Isn't the promise of the American Dream to study hard in school and get into college so you can prepare yourself for a good career and get a job and pay taxes, etc?
So Mr. Santorum, by that reasoning, any Junior in high school right now (like my own kid) who is busy figuring out a career path and applying to college is a snob? So you Mr. Santorum and your children attending college are snobs as well, by your reasoning.
No, it is not snobbery to want better for your children! You are the snob Mr. Santorum! You would rather keep unskilled people un-educated and under-educated in order for you and your ilk to keep your boot to their necks and then complain about them because they need government assistance.
I make thirty seven thousand dollars a year, I pay a mortgage and the various bills of an everyday American, and by hook or by crook, I will beg, borrow or steal (ok, maybe not steal) to ensure that my ex and I can put our daughter through college so she too can be a productive member of our society! If that's being a snob, then that's what I am and no white man in a sweater vest trying to be the next pope is going to make any difference in that decision.
Fuck you and your false piety santorum and go crawl back under your rock!
***BTW - You can keep your religion that covers up child rape and encourages paedophilea and stick it where the sun don't shine. Thank the Universal Spirit above that my family values aren't Catholic like yours, I might be inclined to allow someone to molest my kid and brush it off as "just something that happens"!
