At about 9:30 last night, my roommate came into my bedroom and said, "THERE ARE CHUNKS OF ICE FALLING FROM THE SKY!!!"
(I'm at work so no maps-if you post a map in the comments I will add it to the diary.)
Here in Minneapolis, we've been under a Winter Storm Warning since Monday. The forecast kept changing, though-the storm track was too unpredictable.
We were downgraded to a Winter Storm Advisory sometime yesterday. The snow forecast was a bit off, but the quarter-of-an-inch of ice was spot-on. The drive to work was better than expected but still awful-I thought my little car was going to shake itself to bits. (Pitted ice-yuck!)
Tornado watches in effect for most of Kentucky, about half of Tennessee, and bits of Arkansas, Ohio, and the very southeastern tip of Missouri.
HUGE area in a high wind advisory, also a huge area under winter weather advisories/warnings.
