This was me for most of today, so I offer advanced apologies if I come off catty or *itchy tonight.
Maybe, some SPARK will brighten my mood. :) If you're going to pretend you're a cop, be very careful about who you stop when you're playing cops & robbers! I carry a lot of crap in my purse, but this item is NOT on my "crap I carry in my purse" list. Here is yet another story exemplifying the tolerance of the "Show Me Your Papers" state.
Finally, who would've thunk Hitler was the "strike a pose" type?!
Let's Countdown...
Thanks to Sam Seder for pinch - hitting while Keith & his voice are still on the mend! :)
#5 "Unsettling" AKA "Banking on a Deal" - Isn't $26 billion kind of a drop in the bucket in comparison to the amount of damage that was done? I hope this action is merely the beginning of more to come. Most mortgages lenders committed fraud against many whose homes had been foreclosed. The 5 too - big - to - fail banks at the heart of the settlement are Wells Fargo, Ally, JP Morgan Chase, Bank of America, and the 1 who has the mortgage on the CLL abode, Citigroup. BofA gets to pay the most coin toward the total. $17 billion will go to foreclosure prevention, $5 billion will go to states & other authorities, $3 billion will go towards refinancing current mortgages, & $1 billion will go to the Federal Housing Authority. AG Holder is calling the settlement a victory; again, I call it a start. The share to the people who were actually harmed will be around $2000 each. Wow, my neighboring states to the west & the north are high on the foreclosure list! Finances for the state of IL have been a cluster - spark for a long damn time, though. Matt Taibbi's on hand to say if this is a victory or a start. He was expecting some pretty craptacular details, but this settlement mainly just covers all the robo - signing that went on. These banks got out of a BUNCH of liability. So, Matt's not too happy. BofA has already dropped the ball on settlement payments they were supposed to make. Well, I'm feeling simply lovely about this! The NY AG insists he's going after the banks for what they did to lead up to all this $hit. Steve Kornacki gets to talk the political angle of the settlement. It sounds big but is a bit reminiscent of Dodd - Frank; THAT'S a good comparison! However, this settlement can be used as a contrast with Mittens "let the foreclosures happen" memo. Well...yes...to a point. The GOBP has offered no solution whatsoever - a shocker, I know. ;D
#4 "CPAC Mentality" AKA "Conservacon" - I don't know how much of this CPAC $hit I can take. If my blood pressure's going up too much, I'm bailing. There's Senator Waterloo! Did they play "Waterloo" after his introduction? ;D Look at all those Congress critters who were there today and weren't at work. If anyone was watching & played a drinking game every time Reagan was mentioned, they're pushing up daisies by now! Former MENSA members were given time on the big stage, too. Bat$hit Bachmann actually learned something from her experience?! Governor Secession's still "a 10th Amendment conservative," so the secession efforts will begin anew. ;) "Herb" dropped out because of "gutter politics" & the classic "spend time with his family." Ken Vogel was at CPAC today & has lived to tell the tale! President Obama was the target of much angst. Social issues were discussed A LOT - GOOD! Make yourselves look like you give a crap about the economy, and President Obama's on his way to re - election. :D The folk at CPAC are the "activist" type. There wasn't a whole lot of love for Mittens. A lot of Man on Dog stickers were passed out. Tomorrow, we'll see if he brings some froth to his speech. ;D
"Time Marches On!" - DIARY DRAFT THEFT AGAIN! Ok, Keith must be instructing these folk to spy on me. :) I heard all of this Will Ferrell starting line - up thing; it is HI - LARIOUS! A bunch of runners ran to the top of the Empire State building. They weren't bothered by a big 'ol ape, were they? That is 1 creepy - looking robot; it does kind of look like a headless mule. EEEeeeWWWww!
#3 "Conservative Crusade" AKA "Capitalizing Contraception" - The GOBP is still braying about the contraceptive "war on religion." Man on Dog implied that President Obama's ready to behead the faithful. Well, he's got froth on the brain. Catholic bishops want all contraception stuff out for everyone; Catholic bishops can go Cheney themselves, too! *&^%$#@! Tara McGuinness is equally amazed that we're talking access to birth control in the 21st century. Well, a lot of Catholic church doctrine's never left the Black Plague! Congress critters have this contraception benefit in their health plans, but it's not good enough for we, the people. And, remember, as far as I'm concerned, the war on religion is REALLY the war on WOMEN! The GOBP is already using this "argument" as a fund - raiser...in an election year.
#2 "Concerned Consumers" - I don't own an IPhone or an IPod; however, I type these diaries nearly every night on an IPad or a MAC if the IPad's charging up. The working conditions in China might not be so nice. Protestors went to Apple stores asking Apple folk to do something about the horrid conditions. Mark Shields authored a petition concerning the working conditions under which these products are made. Nearly 200K have signed it! Apple should have the ability to more - closely oversee the lives of their factory workers.
#1 "PAC Up Artist" AKA "Mr. Right Wing" - So, our poor Maysoon Zayid got roped into the love...CPAC - style segment?! Again, I think I have a strong stomach, but if I feel like I'm gonna have a technicolor revisit of my dinner, I'm bailing! There was a dating seminar today. EEEeeeeeWWWWwwww! The "perfect girl" works for FAUX News. Never in my life have I been more thrilled to be NOT perfect! She feels like she's cheating on Keith - how cute! :) "...same sex marriage with lemurs"?! HA! There is to be no questioning on a conservative date! Yep, that's good & authoritarian!!
