As part of her "FastForward" prayer initiative for the 2012 elections, New Apostolic Reformation leader Cindy Jacobs put out a prayer guide for California. Jacobs, for those who don't know, is the same yayhoo who claimed birds fell dead as a result of the repeal of Don't Ask, Don't Tell and has openly declared war on separation of church and state.
During the last full week of February, Jacobs' acolytes in California were directed specifically to pray against five of California's most influential unions--SEIU, AFSCME, the California Correctional Officers Association, the California Teachers Association, the California Federation of Teachers, the California Nurses Alliance and the United Nurses Associations of California/Union of Health Care Professionals.
PRAY IN FAITH AND DECLARATION
- For entrepreneurs, corporations and businesses to launch new ventures into the marketplace
- That financial contributions of unions intended to manipulate the voice of the vote would be shut up and shut down
- That God will break the power and control of these unions off our California government
- That the financial contributions given by unions to influence the vote will be rerouted for righteousness' sake in this upcoming election
- That union members can break free of the entrapment of the unions' political pressure
This prayer guide could have easily been written by Americans for Prosperity.
According to Talk2Action's Rachel Tabachnick, attacks on organized labor are par for the course for the dominionists.
There is no question that the NAR apostles are promoting "Biblical economics" as part of their Dominionist agenda. The prayer warrior networks also disseminate David Barton's Christian Nationalist history, which includes claims that the Bible prohibits certain taxes and that Jesus opposed the minimum wage.
And yet, Jacobs claims with a straight face that this effort is nonpartisan? We already knew this claim was baloney, but this prayer guide is more proof of it.
